The Switchers is an EU-funded program built to support social entrepreneurs in the MENA region. Its members range from an eco-hotel outside of Marrakesh, to an up-cycling social business in Cairo's Garbage City, to a local farmer’s market in Beirut. These social entrepreneurs are working to create social businesses within their societies that prioritize social impact along with a strong business model. Switchers is a recognition of the fact that if the west wants to do business in the “developing world”, it should be the business of supporting local initiatives instead of foreign based development programs that create dependency instead of true development. We spent time with the entrepreneurs featured in this video, learned their businesses, and experimented with some new camera movement-based transitions you can see in the video!
