WORKSHOPS

WHY WORKSHOPS?

We believe in the necessity to communicate without intermediaries. The hope is that each community can choose and communicate their stories in a language that is their own - they are the protagonists of the creative processes.

With a practical and hands-on approach we practice a filmmaking model that is collaborative and participatory. Even though we have achieved top standard quality outputs, our focus is on the process.

WHAT WE DO

Designed for people with little or no experience in making movies, but great desire to tell stories rooted in local understanding and experiences, the objective is to bring the audiovisual tools and narrative elements closer to them. Our various workshops are a range of evening, weekend and short programs in filmmaking that incorporate concepts around directing, scripting, editing, acting, photography and sound. Using the available resources (equipment, spaces, time) we tailor the workshop curriculum to fit the needs of our partners.

We have done workshops at conferences where filmmaking proved to be a powerful tool for intercultural connection. We’ve partnered with doctors, social entrepreneurs and journalists and have trained them in the task of identifying good stories and successfully portraying them. Short workshops have shown a glimpse of the fascinating world of visual storytelling and longer partnerships and mentorships at film festivals and with local TV crews, have gone deep into building technical capacity.
