La Minga Indigena x The Allianze x COP26

BY JOHAN SELIN

Over 100 Indigenous people and supporters of La Minga Indigena came all the way to Glasgow for the COP26 to claim representation and space in decision making regarding climate justice.

We were in Glasgow working alongside an organization called The Allianze, a global alliance of indigenous elders, leaders, activists, artists and scientists to inspire a movement of unity and biodiversity guardianship. We worked on creating a documentary and portrait series giving an intimate look at their territories, the flora and fauna they hold sacred, ancestral stories and wisdom.

During this years COP the indigenous leaders have been speaking about the challenges and new realities their peoples have to face as a result of environmental degradation and climate change, they have also been sharing their experiences of caring for their ancestral territories, in order to generate spaces of learning, discussion and reflection.

Please read more about La Minga Indigena and The Allianze, we are honored to be a part of such a powerful movement.
